News items

Sandy would have read the newspaper during the time the build-up to the Declaration of War occurred. While he was in Invercargill and would have read the Southland Times, stories in the Otago Daily Times would have been very similar or identical to those Sandy would have read. So here are samples of the kinds of stories he would have read.

Diary entries

Sandy's Diary entries, in date order, are all published together.

Photos

Sandy also put together an album of photos, from his time in Egypt, and in Europe of his time on the Western Front. These photos will be published progressively online

Postcards

It is clear that Sandy wrote letters home, but none have yet come to light. However, he supplemented them, and the photos he began to take, with postcards which were sent 'Home'. Those preserved include at least one sent by one of his comrades.
